Gentlemen:

\JWill you please change my address on all of your records for
personal correspondence from my former addresses of 1086 Cathcart
Way, Stanford, Calif. and 1510 Oak Creek Drive, Palo Alto, California
to that shown on this letter head. Apparently, you have several
different address files, which do not speak to each other (not a very
good example to be set by a computer company), as I have already made
two previous requests of this sort and I still get misdirected mail.
Mail being sent to my business address at Stanford University may be
still sent to that address. Incidentally, I do get some mail from IBM
addressed correctly so I know that my previous requests were
received.

The worst example of miss-direction relates to the IBM Club News,
which comes to me addressed to 1086 Cathcart Way, Stanfore, Conn.
Such a town does not exist but the Post Office, in an effort to
satisfy, first sends it to Stamford, Conn. from which it is forwarded
to Stanford, Calif. where it in turn is forwarded to my old Palo Alto
address and it finally arrives at my present address with postage due
for all of the many forwardings. This would be bad enough if I was
interested in the News, since it arrives many days late, but I have
really very little use for information about happenings 2500 miles
away. So please remove my name from this list at least.

If it will be of any help, I am a retired IBMer with a man number of
480480 and a Social Security number of 091-09-8617. My business
address is Computer Science Dept., Stanford University, Stanford,
Calif. 94305. Technical literature, such as the IBM Journal of
Research and Development, should still be sent to this address.

My business phone is (415) 497-3330, and my home phone number is
(415) 851-1501 Ex.322 (yes the number with the extension is my home phone).

In an effort to make your job a bit easier, I am enclosing several
copies of this letter which you can send around to various places.\.
